Perimenopause - What is it all about?

So, everyone is speaking about the menopause these days which is great. Finally, we are breaking down the taboo of the menopause and shouting out loud and proud about it.

The Menopause is a natural stage in any womans life but before you enter the full menopause, there is the delighful perimenopause to look forward to. Oh joy!

What do you know about the perimenopause?

The transition period before the actual Menopause usually occurs when a woman is aged between 40 -50 years old but can happen earlier. It just depends on the person.

When you enter the perimenopause, your fertility starts to decline but you can still get pregnant.

Some women can be in the perimenopausal stage for up to 10 years.

It is a difficult prediction to make varies from woman to woman.

Tiredness & Fatigue

Poor motivation

Mood swings

Low moods

Dry skin

Night sweats

Hot flushes

Increased facial hair

Vaginal drying

Bladder problems

Erratic, infrequent, light, or heavy periods

Perimenopause can be treated with a Hormone Replacement Therapy otherwise known as HRT.

Treatment does really depend on your symptoms though.

When people talk about “going through the Menopause” they are talking about the perimenopause.

Perimenopause is caused by hormonal changes within your body so managing your symptoms is very important.

Reducing alcohol and caffeine can help the triggers of hot flushes and promote a better night’s sleep.

To help with mindfulness we recommend exercising and yoga.

Eating a healthy balanced diet and drinking herbal tea filled with nutrients and antioxidants such as our Goddess box which is our perimenopausal support tea.

Eating a healthy diet of fruit, vegetables, fiber, fish, nuts, and seeds.

Calcium foods such as milk, cheese, yoghurt to help support your bones.

Daily supplement of Vitamin D.

Moderate exercise.

For the woman who needs a little helping hand to help ease symptoms of the perimenopause.

We created The Goddess Box which consists of a morning and evening tea.

Our morning tea blend has no caffeine and is the most delicious blend of Elderflower and Lemon Grass. These two herbs combined create a slow energy boost to life you throughout the day.

This tea blend helps with focus as well as calming and relaxing the mind, helping with braing fog and also reducing low moods.

Our evening tea blend is perfect for late in the day or just before bed as it calms the mind down wonderfully and helps you to relax and eases digestion and heartburn.

Full of mind calming Chamomile flowers and Rooibos to help balance the hormones in a more natural way.
